Sandman's Candyland was born with a vision. Bonnie Cox, and her son Steven, had a vision to create a fun and exciting environment for people of all ages. What better place to do this than at Holden Beach, The Family Beach. Bonnie and her husband, Steve, have lived on Holden Beach for the past twenty years along with their 15-year-old son, Steven. In February 2003 talk began about opening this store. Bonnie recruited Dean Carroll, a native of the Brunswick County area, as General Manager, and her son, Evan, for Marketing. Steven Cox was the Owner of the store, and perhaps one of the youngest merchants in Holden Beach. On May 23, 2003 Sandman's was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Our team has spent the first tourist season learning the ups and downs of running a candy store. Our staff is now much more than a team, we are a family, The Sandman's Family.
